Why this page exists
STUDIO ONE NETWORKS publishes news, and news describes a world that keeps moving after we hit publish. This page sets out, honestly and without hedging, what our content is and what it is not, so that nobody mistakes a news report for a professional service it was never meant to be.
News changes after publication
Every story on this site reflects the best information we could verify at the time it was written. In breaking and developing coverage especially, facts can and do change: casualty figures are revised, officials walk back statements, early data gets corrected by the bodies that issued it. We update stories and label material changes as described in our Corrections Policy, but a story you read hours or years after publication may have been overtaken by events. The publication date on every article is there for exactly this reason; check it before relying on anything time-sensitive.
Not financial advice
Our business coverage reports on markets, companies and economies. It is journalism, not investment advice. Prices, valuations and market conditions mentioned in a story can be stale within minutes of publication. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, currency, commodity or other asset, and no story takes your personal financial situation into account, because we do not know it. Decisions about money should be made with a qualified, licensed financial adviser, using data you have verified is current.
Not medical, legal or professional advice
The same applies across our coverage. Science and health stories report on research and public health developments; they are not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation or a substitute for a doctor. Stories touching on law report on cases and legislation; they are not legal advice. Auto coverage is not a safety inspection, travel coverage is not a guarantee about conditions at your destination, and technology coverage is not a promise that a product will work for your needs. For decisions that affect your health, rights, safety or livelihood, consult a qualified professional.
Accuracy, with limits stated plainly
We verify before we publish, and our Fact-Checking Policy describes the process. Even so, we make no warranty, express or implied, that every piece of information on this site is complete, current or free of error at the moment you read it. Where we discover errors we correct them visibly. Your protection as a reader comes from that correction discipline, not from a pretense of infallibility.
Use of this site is at your own risk in the specific sense that matters: any action you take on the basis of something you read here is your decision, taken on your judgment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, STUDIO ONE NETWORKS and its operators accept no liability for losses arising from reliance on published content, as set out more fully in our Terms of Service. That is not an evasion of our duty to be accurate; it is the legal recognition that a news report, however careful, cannot know your circumstances.
Opinions and analysis
Most of what we publish is news reporting. Where a piece is analysis or opinion, it is labeled as such, and it represents the view of the editorial team at the time of writing, not an objective fact and not the view of any advertiser. The separation between news and opinion is covered in our Editorial Standards.
Third-party content and links
Stories link to external sources because showing our sources is part of honest journalism. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or availability of external sites, and a link is a citation, not an endorsement. Advertisements on this site are supplied by ad networks; the products and claims in them belong to the advertisers, and their appearance here is not an editorial recommendation of any kind.
Affiliate links
Some product-related coverage contains affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Articles containing such links say so. Affiliate potential never determines what we cover or what we conclude; the arrangement is disclosed on our Ownership & Funding page, and the wall between revenue and editorial judgment is absolute.
Questions
If anything on this page is unclear, or you believe a story has been overtaken by events and needs an update, write to support@studioonenetworks.com. Flagging an outdated story is treated with the same seriousness as reporting an error.
