A Holiday Tradition That Keeps on Giving

For many families, visiting Santa at CherryVale Mall is a cherished tradition. Shoppers not only bring their children to share their holiday wishes with St. Nick but also take the opportunity to kickstart their Christmas shopping.

“We’ve done it every year,” said one shopper. “We’re definitely going to make a trip back just for the pictures with Santa.”

Shopping and Santa: A Perfect Pairing

Santa’s presence at CherryVale Mall has proven to be more than just a festive attraction—it’s also a boon for businesses. Mall Leasing and Advertising Manager Amy Myers noted the uptick in shopping activity.

“It puts people in the spirit,” she said. “Hopefully, they find some really nice deals for gifts to put under the tree or for the holidays.”

The holiday atmosphere is bolstered by stores playing Christmas music and festive décor, creating an ambiance that encourages shoppers to linger and spend.

Local Businesses Feel the Cheer

For long-time tenants like GQ Sports, Santa’s workshop is more than just a nearby attraction—it’s a driver of business. The store, which has been part of the mall for nearly 25 years, is optimistic about the weeks ahead.

“With just a handful of Saturdays left until Christmas, we expect to see a pickup in mall traffic,” said Gary Larson, owner of GQ Sports. “They’re in here all year long looking at different things, and mom and dad tell them, ‘Wait until Christmas.’ Hopefully, we see all those people come back.”

Larson also noted the synergy between Santa’s workshop and the shopping experience, as families mix festive activities with practical errands like buying gifts or stocking stuffers.

Santa for Everyone: Pets Welcome Too

Starting this Monday, CherryVale Mall is inviting pet owners to bring their furry friends for a photo op with Santa. Pet photo sessions will run every Monday through December 16, adding another layer of inclusivity to the holiday festivities.

Santa’s visit continues through Christmas Eve, ensuring everyone has the chance to experience the magic. Specific times and details can be found on the mall’s website, making it easier for families to plan their trip.

A Tradition That Benefits All

Santa’s arrival is more than a festive highlight—it’s a win-win for families and businesses alike. Shoppers get into the holiday spirit, children revel in the magic of Christmas, and stores benefit from increased traffic and sales. With holiday cheer in full swing, CherryVale Mall is proving that a little Christmas magic can go a long way in supporting the community.
