For thousands of students across the country, a spot in the Disney Dreamers Academy is a dream in itself. Only a select few make the cut, and this year, six Houston-area students will be among the 100 young minds heading to Walt Disney World in 2025.
A Future Filmmaker in the Making
At just 14 years old, Zane Stevenson is already building an impressive resume. The Pearland ISD freshman is not just a student but a driven achiever with an eye for the future.
His list of accomplishments is long: Eagle Scout, first-degree black belt in mixed martial arts, marching band member, and active participant in various school organizations. But his passion? Working behind the camera, bringing stories to life.
“I found out I’m one of the 20,000 who applied to be a Disney Dreamer, and only 100 made it. So, it felt great,” Stevenson said, reflecting on his selection.
What is Disney Dreamers Academy?
This annual mentoring program is more than just a trip to Disney World. It’s a four-day, all-expenses-paid event designed to inspire and empower young people, equipping them with tools to pursue their dreams.
From March 26 to 30, 2025, Stevenson and his fellow Dreamers will engage in hands-on workshops, leadership training, and networking sessions with top professionals in their fields. The program focuses on career exploration, self-development, and the power of dreaming big.
The Competitive Journey to the Top
Earning a spot in the academy is no easy feat.
