Reality star Teddi Mellencamp has shared another heartbreaking update about her health. Just weeks after undergoing surgery to remove multiple brain tumors, doctors have discovered five more growths—three in her brain and two in her lungs. Despite the devastating news, Mellencamp remains determined to fight, expressing hope that immunotherapy and radiation will help her beat the disease.
A Shocking New Diagnosis
Mellencamp, best known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealed the latest update in an Instagram post on Thursday. “Update from my scans today: I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery. I also have two tumors in my lung. These are all metastases of my melanoma,” she wrote.
This comes just days after she was released from the hospital following her brain surgery. Initially, doctors removed four tumors from her brain, but new scans have now shown additional cancerous growths. It’s a significant setback in her battle with stage IV melanoma, a diagnosis she has been publicly navigating for months.
Holding Onto Hope Amid Uncertainty
While the news is difficult, Mellencamp remains optimistic. She reassured her followers that her doctors are hopeful about her treatment plan. “I am feeling positive—that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names,” she wrote alongside a photo of her new blond hairpiece.
She also confirmed that she is scheduled to begin immunotherapy on Tuesday. This treatment, which boosts the body’s immune system to fight cancer, has shown promising results for melanoma patients. In addition to immunotherapy, Mellencamp will also undergo targeted radiation to address the tumors that couldn’t be surgically removed.
A Long Road to Recovery
Mellencamp has been candid about her health struggles, sharing both the highs and lows with her audience. While she remains committed to staying strong, she admitted that her recovery process is still unpredictable.
- She’s unsure when she’ll return to her podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, though she hopes it will be soon.
- Doctors have advised her to prioritize rest and treatment before making any commitments.
- Her friends and family continue to provide unwavering support, including her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave.
“I don’t actually know when I’ll be back [on the podcast]. I would assume next week, but I’m listening to what the doctors and my bosses think is best for my brain,” she explained in her Instagram Stories.
Friends and Family Rally Around Her
Following her latest update, Mellencamp has received an outpouring of love and encouragement from friends, family, and fans. Her former RHOBH co-star Kyle Richards has been particularly vocal in her support, regularly checking in and sharing messages of encouragement.
Even Arroyave, from whom Mellencamp is currently separated, has shown his unwavering commitment to standing by her side. After her latest surgery, he expressed gratitude for the support they’ve received. “Our family is thankful to everybody for your continued prayers and well wishes,” he posted on social media.
Mellencamp’s resilience is undeniable. She continues to fight, to share her story, and to find moments of joy—even in the darkest of times.
