Amazon Brings Heat and Marlins Games to Prime Video, but There’s a Catch

South Florida sports fans have a new way to stream Miami Heat and Marlins games. But it won’t come cheap. Amazon Prime Video has partnered with FanDuel’s regional sports networks, giving fans access to 30 NBA, MLB, and NHL teams across the country.

A New Streaming Option for Heat and Marlins Fans

For those following Miami’s top teams, the deal means Heat games on FanDuel Sports Network Sun will start streaming on Amazon Prime this Friday when the team faces the Toronto Raptors. Marlins games will join in on March 11, kicking off with their first spring training matchup.

Subscribers won’t need a separate app—Amazon will stream FanDuel’s full game productions, including commentary from Eric Reid and John Crotty for the Heat.

The catch? It’s not included with a standard Prime subscription. Fans must pay an additional fee: $19.99 per month for access to either the Heat or Marlins network or $29.99 for both.

The Price of Watching Local Teams Just Went Up

For many South Florida fans, this means shelling out more than before just to keep up with their teams.

  • Last season, watching the Heat was more affordable. Now, many are paying $20 more per month.
  • Some fans have opted out entirely, which might explain the drop in Heat TV ratings this season.
  • Most homes in the region no longer have access to these games without an added fee.

Only a few providers still offer the FanDuel networks without extra costs. Breezeline and Fubo include them in their base packages, while DirecTV requires at least a “Choice” package.

FanDuel Expands Its Coverage With a New Voice

FanDuel Sports Florida is making moves beyond streaming. Veteran baseball analyst Craig Mish is joining the network as a studio analyst for select Marlins games.

Mish has built a reputation as one of the top MLB insiders in Florida, covering the Marlins for years. He’ll contribute mostly to pregame segments while continuing his role as a senior MLB writer for the Miami Herald.

“I’m really excited to join the broadcast lineup and hope I can bring something new and insightful to the fans about this next chapter of Marlins baseball,” Mish said.

What to Expect for the Marlins Broadcast Team

Marlins fans can expect some familiar and new faces on their screens this season.

  • Craig Minervini and Kelly Saco will handle most studio hosting duties.
  • Jeremy Tache may contribute to studio coverage alongside his reporting role.
  • A four-man analyst rotation will feature Rod Allen, Jeff Nelson, Gaby Sanchez, and Tommy Hutton.
  • Kyle Sielaff, formerly the team’s radio voice, will step in as the primary TV play-by-play announcer.

FanDuel Sports Florida is set to carry nearly every regular-season Marlins game, plus five spring training matchups on March 11, 16, 17, 18, and 20.
